Wide Receiver Situation
Written by westward

Update on LOI day: Word is that Bellamy is going to sign with WSU on LOI Day.

That puts us at three receivers in this class which is just about right. Bellamy will have 3 to play 2, Forzani will have 3 to play 3 and Simone will obviously have all 5 years to play 4. This unit feels pretty good right now with the guys we have coming back. All have a ton to prove but it seems like there is enough to expect that at least 2 will show up as consistent good contributors for us next year. We clearly need much more than that to make our system go but it's a start. Grippi has said that the staff is thinking could be
an immediate starter which would be fantastic for us. With the addition of Bellamy you have to figure that Simone becomes a redshirt candidate.
Looking at:

Kevin Norrell (slot)
Jeshua Anderson (wideout)
Daniel Blackledge (split or wideout)
Johnny Forzani (split or wideout)
Marcus Houston (who knows)
Michael Willis (slot?)
Josh Bellamy (he's on the record as saying he'll play any of the spots)

Redshirt:

It should be interesting to see if they even look at redshirting Bellamy at this point. I'm sure it will all depend on how the other guys look. Really excited about Norrell. I think he's going to be great for us next year. Curious about Karstetter and Anderson on their development. Also, curious to see if Blackledge sprouts a pair and stays on the field for more than a half of a season.

Seems like lots of potential here.
