I thought we were done with that many turnovers. Really happy to see the kids grind one out and stay mentally in the game through overtime. I was pumped to see Capers take Nik's minutes tonight and do something with them. He is still awful with the jumper but you can see with minutes that he is going to be an awesome defender and real good around the hoop. He needs minutes and it will be painful but I'd rather see him do it now.
This is exactly the type of game where Casto would ass out. Tough zone D that requires him to play in the high post and move constantly on defense. That's exactly what happened. Kind of curious that TB would choose to start him in this game of all places. I think with where Casto is at developmentally he'll have a much better chance of looking real good on Saturday against Oregon. The changes to move around Taylor have been awesome. He's back. But fuck.....45 minutes tonight....kidding me? I was happy to see Klay mentally dialed-in the whole game too. He had some BAD TO's though and that length of the court inbounds near the end of regulation? What an asshole. Keep getting him minutes though....he's going to grow out of those things quick. He's already rebounding from mistakes quicker than just a couple of games ago. I liked what Enquist brought. I think he can help when matched-up against gangly big men like he is. He put in solid minutes tonight. Bummed to see Lodwick unable to step up and take some minutes. This was a game where he could have really showed up and been huge for us. If we see Klay getting 30 and Casto/Capers getting 20 minutes a night then I'm happy. These dudes need minutes to develop. I wish there was a fourth that really started to take minutes. Maybe Enquist or Lodwick right now? Doesn't seem like Harthun is ready yet. I'll take the win and hope we show up to play a real game on Saturday. If we get out of Oregon at 3-2 in the P10, I'm going to be pretty ecstatic given how unsteady we've looked.
