I can't say that I agree BornCoug. There just isn't any sort of guarantee that we would get funded if UW get's theirs. In fact, they are pushing a King County tax so it would not make much sense to fund Martin via the same pathway.
My whole point is that if danger is the concern then play the games at a world class facility that is only six miles away from campus.
The reality is that they are proposing a 300 million dollar upgrade in total. They want the state to pay for basic upgrades so they can hit up donors to cover the other 150 million which will go to suites, club seats, and luxury amenities to draw more revenue.
If UW was truly concerned about safety they would take care of those issues with donor money first.
Don't be fooled by the PR pitch. The reality is that they need the state to cover the basics so they can invest in the luxury items.
