Carroll is leaving USC because the writing is on the wall-- sanctions are coming and the program is going to be under close scrutiny for the near future. Of course it'd be great if Riley or Sark were to head to SC but I don't see it happening: they are in a better position where they are now than they would be taking over a program about to get handcuffed. Even if sanctions don't come, there will be a lot more scruiny, embarrassment, press coverage, and general headaches that will make it an undesirable position. Factor in the huge impact it'll have on recruiting, and it looks like maybe the least attractive job in the PAC-10... until order is restored.
